Heartwarming / Champions (2019)

• Issue #5 as a whole.
  • The Champions are dealing with Malekith's forces as well as providing medical supplies to various refugee camps, one of whom are the X-Men. Cyclops immediately runs off to help his former team upon learning of the situation.
  • During a brief respite, Ms. Marvel greets Cyclops as if he were a stranger, assuming that his past self was an alternate version of the X-Man. Scott assures Kamala that they were in fact the same person and that he remembers his time spent with the Champions, causing her to cry Tears of Joy. The two then lovingly embrace.
    Cyclops: Don't worry, Ms. Marvel. I know exactly who you are. We were captured by Atlanteans, we fought the Freelancers and we beat the High Evolutionary. Video games, paintball and watching movies. You guys were my friends, and I'll never forget that... because we're Champions.
  • Dust approaches Cyclops and expresses her willingness to rejoin the X-Men. Cyclops suggests joining the Champs instead, not wanting her mixed up in the X-Men's drama.
  • Upon returning to the camp, Havok berates Cyclops for just up and leaving. Scott stands by his decision without hesitation.
    Havok: What the hell were you thinking?! We're supposed to be a team.
    Cyclops: I know. That's why I went... because my team needed me.
