- After Masato ended up in the Maze for 10 years Serpenteze motivated Masato to keep living and helped him to survive despite Masato setting him free. After a while, he grew to appreciate the Bakugan and even befriend a Golden Bakugan. When Masato collapses in the Maze, having ran out of energy, Serpenteze gives him food, returning after he discarded him.Masato: I thought I had lost everything, but that wasn't true. I never lost the thing that was most precious to me, and that was Serpenteze. He came back for me, and saved my life. I was so wrapped up in my own head I just couldn't see it. I had something precious besides me all I along.

- During Lightning's Day in the Limelight, we finally get to hear his inner thoughts in pure English, concerned about Dan pressuring himself to evolve Drago, with his Bakugan encouraging him to support Dan another way.

- After Dan frees Magnus from Tiko's control, the former confesses that he enjoys battling Magnus regardless of the circumstances and offers to battle him again…on more friendly terms. This time, Magnus reciprocates.

- China's new partner Barbetra is revealed to be extremely introverted and barely has any backbone. Though she's stubborn and demanding as usual, China puts in much more effort to give Barbetra more confidence in herself, even physically spraining herself to support her, something China would never do in the beginning. It pays off in her battle with Dan, where Barbetra finds the courage to keep going and battle Drago.
