Heartwarming / Are You Lost?

  • Homare's flashbacks with her father not only show how much he taught her, but how close the two of them are.
  • While Shion is the most out of her element on the island, that doesn't mean she's not grateful for Homare's efforts. In Episode 5, after seeing that Homare cut her hand while searching underwater, Shion eagerly digs in to the starfish Homare got for her, despite her earlier disgust. In Episode 10, after noticing that Homare had been stung, Shion doesn't hesitate to start the relay to retrieve the honeycomb.
  • When Shion gets swept away, Homare wastes no time in making a raft to save her. She recalls her father's advice to think of herself first in an emergency, then simply smiles and thinks, "I'm sorry, Papa." To Homare, protecting one of her friends is worth risking her life and going against her father's teachings.
  • When all seems lost for Shion, she dedicates her last thoughts to her parents, telling them that she made some dear friends. At that point, Homare finally arrives, and tells her that she'll bring Shion back.
  • The group's reunion once Shion is rescued. They're still trapped on the island, but they're glad that every one of them made it through the ordeal.
  • Episode 12 ends with Homare's father sailing a boat in search of his daughter, thinking, "I'm coming, Homare."
  • The final volume, taking place after the girls are rescued, shows that the plane continued to travel after the castaways were lost, crashing near a military base, with the other passengers rescued within hours, revealing that, despite what you may have thought throughout the manga, the plane crash resulted in no causualties.
  • Following their rescue, the girls continued to be friends, and helped Homare get along better with the other students, allowing her to finally fit in and feel like less of an outsider.
