Heartwarming / Amalgamate

• In general, Kaito growing closer and closer to Kokichi throughout the entire story, to the point where even Kokichi’s usual antics make him smile in amusement rather than annoyed. Kokichi in turns grows to trust him more and more, something he likely hasn’t done with anyone in years, and is willing to work with Kaito to end the game once in for all, solely because Kaito’s already proven that Kokichi can rely on him.
• Himiko using her magic tricks to cheer up Kokichi, empathizing with his depressive state and even taking the piss out of Kaito because she knows that’s what’ll make him smile. Kokichi is actually more receptive to her attempts than expected.
• After Maki strangles Kokichi to near death, she realizes how much pain she’s caused him and gives him a heartfelt apology, promising to earn his trust back. When he refuses to forgive her, she’s not hurt or upset, but understanding that he has a right to reject her apology. It’s a far cry from before, where she hated him so much that wanted nothing to do with him.
• Maki's treatment of Himiko. She's been so gentle with her, helping her cope with the situation through magic and fantasy despite Himiko lashing out at her.
• Kaito first starting to pilot the exisal and Kokichi being legitimately happy about it at the end of chapter 2.
