Headscratchers / Yatterman Night

Go To

  • If the 2008 series did happen and was a product of Dokurobei's attempt at revenge for his first defeat, then why didn't Gan and Ai use their more powerful robots Yatterking, Yatterjinbe, and Yatterdragon against Dokurobei? The end result shows only Yatterwan being destroyed.
    • In the 2008 canon Yatterking is a temporary powerup for Yatterwan and not his reconstruction. Furthermore, Dokurobei's narration is a five minutes abridged retelling of years of Yatterman canon and the final battle. It's safe to presume the other Yatter machines were defeated, destroyed and/or captured and repurposed in the Yatter Kingdom, but Yatterwan defeated was a visual shorthand for the fall of the Yattermen.
  • Wait a moment- Did Dokurobei actually die? I mean, we hear him say that he's been harvesting energy from humans for a while now, and that as long as they keep making energy for him, he'll continue to live. All that managed to happen to him was that he got rammed in by Yatterwan and blew up. And even though some people saw the explosion, it doesn't guarantee that some Yatter Kingdom residents will stop making energy for him unwittingly. Furthermore, the power plants making that energy haven't been taken down!
    • But no one is working for Dokurobei anymore . Furthermore, if Dokurobei had some kind of material body, getting his brain pulped by having his head rammed at full speed by Yatterwan took care of it.
  • Forgive me for asking, but do we ever figure out which one of the two characters we've seen (Galina and Alouette) is Gan and Ai's descendants?! And if so, how old were they when Dokurobei came back to Earth?!
    • It's most likely Alouette due to the song she hums like Leopard.
    • If I can recall correctly, Leopard herself taught Alouette the song when they first took a bath together. She had asked what the song was, and from then on she kept singing it.
    • I mean, if you want to think of it like that, then the descendant is in all likeliness Leopard, due to her heroic resolve and the fact that she was the one who learned the song before Galina and Alouette did. After all, she did muse about the possibility of her and the Yatermen being related at the end of the series.
      • Actually Leopard's knowledge of the Yattermen doesn't mean she can be a descendant of Gan Takada and Ai Kaminari, since also Dokurobei knew the song. It's more realistic thinking that Doronjo herself passed down through her descendants the song, along with rules of being good girls, respect pigs and be friends with Boyakki's and Tonzura's families, as a way to protect them from Dokurobei and spurring them, in the future, to seek the real Yattermen to help. Since every character is a Tasunoko mashup, and Wan-chan used to be an expy of Casshern's Friender we can suppose Galina is the last descendant of Gan Takada and Ai Kaminari, and Alouette the last of the Azuma's. That also would fit the original pairing of Gan Takada, son of a master toymaker, and Ai Kaminari, daughter of the wealthiest electrician in Dekkaido.
      • In fact, in the last moments of the series Leopard is shown musing that Doronjo herself left the song to her childer "Knowing that Yatterman..." . Since Doronjo used to be a thief, a grifter and a swindler, but she could never bring herself to be part of the crapsack world of Yoru No Yatterman is a far more likely option thinking that she wished her descendants to seek the Yattermen and have faith in them in time of crisis (not knowing how far Dokurobei could go to slander their reputation) and, unable and/or unwilling to tell them all the story, she passed down the legend of the heroic Yattermen fighting the evil Dokurobei and his servants, the Doronbow gang, as a cautionary tale about having faith in the real Yattermen and place no trust in Dokurobei and the original Doronbow.
