Headscratchers / Wonder Woman: Warbringer

  • So we learn near the end of the book that Jason was trying to keep them from reaching the spring so that he could send humanity back to the Stone Age by setting monsters loose upon the world. And he's clearly regretful about having his sister be indirectly responsible for this, but I can't figure out why he needed Alia's Warbringer powers in the first place. He already had everything he needed to create a war on his own — he had the super-soldiers, he had the genetically-engineered monsters, he had the EMPs to keep nukes out of the picture... If he doesn't want Alia to be involved, why didn't he just let her bathe in the spring and then enact his plan afterward? This would only make sense if the monsters he's created are dependent on the Warbringer's presence in order to act — and that's never suggested to be the case.
