Headscratchers / Vampire: The Masquerade – Coteries of New York

  • Why does Thomas Arturo bind the Fledgling to him? It's not like they'd be particularly useful to him, considering less than an hour before you were shown evidence of being really sloppy when it came to covering your tracks, which means you can't get around the city doing anything discreetly for him. You have no influence in the court, you can't spy for him, your adopted Sire is dead and nobody in your Coterie is particularly influential — except maybe D'Angelo, who could feed Qadir false information, but is also good enough an investigator he might not fall for it. So why bind you to him? Why not just kill you?
    • The player character does show significant promise as in about two weeks, they manage to eliminate multiple Second Inquisition targets (Tamika), overthrow a Malkavian Ancilla (Hope), get information from a Nosferatu Elder, and/or solve a Thin Blooded serial killer. Thomas doesn't need someone at court, he needs someone who can be an agent on the ground who is not powerful enough to overthrow him as well as dependent on his patronage. Basically, doing the exact same thing for him as you did for Sophie.
