  • Why is Greyson's invitation in the chapel's safe? Everybody else has theirs on their person or somebody took it from them (Aurum and Willow). It could be argued that Lucas made a joke with it — because Greyson is a locksmith, you need his powers first to open the vault. But why is it in the vault in the chapel? The place you only re-visit on the endgame stretch? It also doesn't make sense that Greyson would hide his invitation there. It seems so odd.
    • Greyson is the owner of that safe.
  • On the mention of said vault: What was Reginald looking for as he searched it?
    • It's possible that Sixpence was looking for a special lock-picking device in order to get through the secret passage into the clocktower.
    • Or perhaps the pocketwatch that he made...
    • Or the bombs, which he wanted to take back to make sure Lucas didn't do something terrible with them after having second thoughts.
    • He's looking for the wire cutters to defuse the bombs, having realised what The Marquis is planning.
  • Is it ever explicitly mentioned how Lafcadio dies? All we get told is that they die "in the chapel with Sixpence". Are we supposed to assume that they die the same way then?
    • No, because Sixpence dies after being shot, and the gun used is only picked up by the murderer after Lafcadio dies. It's possible Lafcadio is blungeoned to death or strangled, but it's never specifically stated.
    • One would expect that one of the staff would have instructions to kill Lafcadio. Since they give no indication of trying to do so, it seems likely that the mark of the Bloody Girl exempts entirely from the murders, forcing the staff to forget his existence and preventing the Gold Skull from going after him directly outside of situations where they cross paths. From a meta perspective the mark means that that part of himself has been forgiven (possibly she was able to do so because Lafcadio, after herself, was the person who Lucas knew cared about him the most and who wouldn't have wanted him to suffer) and can therefore no longer be used as part of the cycle of self-torment. Therefore, while there were plans to kill Lafcadio on previous iterations, they no longer occur once the game begins.
    • Inversely, it may be that the original plan had Lafcadio killed along with Sixpence, but they were in fact killed before midday the first time - which allows for Lucas to use them as a 'puppet' (due to having already forgiven their death) to try and save the others.
