Headscratchers / The Noddy Shop

  • Why exactly does Charlene von pickings hate children so much?
  • How does the toys coming to life work in this series? I ask because it doesn't seem that they do so when no one's looking, because sometimes they appear moving in Truman's presence, and Agatha has often seen the goblins, believing they are mice. However, Kate and DJ never seem to see them alive (except in "Think Big" because of Boobull's spell), and Truman's comments in that episode imply that he has told them they can talk, but they never believed him until they were shrunk (which they forget about once they return to normal size). Furthermore, Noah's comments in the first episode imply that he knows the toys come to life, but again, in "Think Big," when the kids call for him, he doesn't hear them. Granted, their smaller size would mean they would have a harder time being heard, but they weren't shrunk to microscopic size, and there was no one else in the shop. So how exactly do the toys decide who sees them come alive, and who doesn't?
    • I always thought that maybe they were ghosts who are possessing toys. Younger kids are more in tune to spiritual energy which would explain why Truman can see them but DJ, Kate, and the adults can't. It's likely this shop has been around awhile and the ghosts are likely spirits of those who used to frequent there. As for the goblins, they are probably spirits but likely not human spirits. They are probably either poltergeist or demons. It would explain why they can be trapped. It seems that adults seem a lot more sensitive to these kinds of spirits than spirits of former humans.
