• How did Jacobi know to bring the falcon to Spade? And if he were a ship's captain, why wasn't he in uniform?
  • Brigid O’Shaughnessy probably got word to him somehow. Probably a message with the port officials to be delivered as soon as the ship docked.
  • Jacoby was captain of a merchant freighter, where requirements regarding uniforms would be more relaxed depending on the ship-owner's rules. If La Paloma wasn't a very tightly run ship, everyone on board might’ve performed their duties wearing regular work clothes.
