• Fridge Logic: There's been some questioning over the years from some fans as to why the Doctor - or any hologram - is heterosexual. Care to explain that one, Lewis Zimmerman?
  • We see in a later episode that Lewis Zimmerman passed on his appearance and his personal traits to the EMH Mark One. Given Zimmerman's interest in Leeta, perhaps it's simply that he is heterosexual.
  • Given that the Doctor is not in the least bit put off by Danara's horrific, phage-ravaged appearance, the physical form of his crush doesn't seem to matter to him.
