Headscratchers / Notes on a Scandal

  • How did Sheba not suspect it was Barbara who told on her? Sheba knew by this point Barbara had some kind of romantic/sexual interest on her. Her actions and words had made her visibly uncomfortable on several occasions. Barbara had even told her when she refused to come with her to collect her cat to 'consider the consequences' and that she 'wasn't sure what she would do'

  • I know it was necessary to propel the plot but why would that particular entry of the diary raise enough red flags for her to frantically search for the diary? You can clearly see the entry and its from before her obsession with and manipulation of her becomes evident

  • Was the ending implying Barbara had learned enough from the experience to go after someone who might actually return her affections? Or simply that she got off scott free apart from losing her job... and managed to find her next victim?
    • The latter.
