• The fact that the fireplace is lit, even though none of the statues require heat anymore.
  • It could be that some humanity is still left in them, and thus they still do regular human tasks.
• The statue at the beginning is one of the many moving ones and the very first you encounter, yet it chooses not to attack and instead leaves, leaving no trail of sorts behind, making us wonder where it went to and how it left without opening any doors.
