Everyone seems to already know that Audrey's birth father was not in the picture even though she hasn't taken any steps to research her birth family. She only has a space for her birth mother on her family tree, and no one even references the fact that she has a birth father until she meets her birth mother's husband. It's only at this point that she learns that her birth father vanished before her birth.
Min's husband might not have been Audrey's birthfather, actually. Min might have been single around the time she had Audrey and so that's why she was given up for adoption
That is all correct and explicitly stated in dialogue. The issue is that Audrey didn't know that her birth father skipped out on her birth mother and disappeared until the third act, yet everyone had already been ignoring the possibility of Audrey reuniting with her birth father up until that point, as if they had foreknowledge.
Audrey only had a photograph of her infant self with her biological mother, so she was naturally more invested (however much she claimed otherwise) with the parent that she knew was aware of her, rather than the father she had no reason to believe had ever been interested in her existence.
