Headscratchers / Here Comes Peter Cottontail

  • This has always bugged me since I was a kid growing up with this film every Easter. We all know the tail is connected to the spine right? So how is Irontail not in a wheelchair from having his tail lopped off in that accident?! I mean shouldn't losing his tail make him paralyzed from the waist down? Unless the metallic false tail he's wearing keeps his spinal cord intact.
    • The tail is the very END of the spine, below the pelvis and major vertebral column, and animals can lose them with no ill effects to the rest of their spinal chord. Spines aren't like Jenga pieces.
    • Also, the way he bounces that tail, it is more likely that the damaged tail is permanently encased in the metal prosthesis than replaced by it.
