Headscratchers / Foreign Creature

• According to the intro fo the second game it took just one week for the meteor bearing the creature to get to Earth. But the way it travelled doesn't even imply some superphotic travel, which means the supposed unnamed planed must be really close to Earth? Is it actually Mars? Even if it was, the meteor still should've travelled damn fast to reach Earth in a single week.
