Headscratchers / Five Find-Outers

• The books always take place during school holidays, and it's usually mentioned which holidays (Easter, summer, Christmas). However, Invisible Thief and it's successor Vanished Prince both take place during the summer, and it's unlikely to be the same one (at the start of Vanished Prince, Pip and Bets have just returned from a family trip). So what happenened during the Christmas and Easter holidays that school year? Was Peterswood crime-free for once, or were the Find-Outers missing two or three members and thus stepped back simply to watch Goon try and fail? Or did the two books actually take place at the beginning and end of the same summer holidays, with the Hiltons' trip in between?
  • There are a few possible explanations. It's possible some crimes did happen and the kids that were present missed it seeing as it's sometimes coincidence they stumbled onto a crime in the first place. Or Peterswood just happened to be crime free at that point.
