Headscratchers / Dark Crisis

  • Didn't Dark Nights: Death Metal say that Perpetua was the one who orchestrated all the previous Crises to weaken the Source Wall? Or was the Great Darkness manipulating her to manipulate all these previous Crises? In fact, it was stated Perpetua was the one behind Darkseid's scheme in Final Crisis, but the lead-up to this event reveals that Darkseid's motive during that event was to draw out and harness the Great Darkness, so was Perpetua aware of the Great Darkness when she whispered in Darkseid's head but was not aware that it was whispering in her head?
  • So it's finally established in issue #4 that Alec Holland and his predecessor, his own mental duplicate, are and always have been the same Swamp Thing. How is that possible?
  • So DC Infinite Frontier was all about the fact the 52 Multiverses were replaced by a now constantly expanding infinite multiverse, while this book is all about Pariah's attempts to overpower the 52 Earths and reestablish the infinite Earths! Can anyone explain this? Shouldn't the plot have be Pariah seeing the newly expanding multiverse as his opportunity to restore the "old" worlds as they once were?
  • Wasn't The Great Darkness's beef that it thought a multiverse was going too far and that there should only be one universe? Shouldn't it be repulsed by Pariah's thoughts? And since when was it "neutral". If we're going by The Bible, God separated the light from the darkness and saw that both were good, not neutral! If we're going by DC Comics, fine, The Great Darkness was originally introduce as THE GREAT EVIL BEAST, and among its victims were all the Angels occupying heaven and half the demons in hell. Wouldn't they know a little more about it than John Constantine and Swamp Thing?
  • Why is Pariah controlling Empty Hand through The Great Darkness? Doesn't Empty Hand represent a deal between The Great Evil Beast and The Presence to stick to just one universe? Wasn't that deal inadvertently broken by the heroes due to the multiverse being restored by Infinite Crisis? Just forget for that handshake between The Presence and The Great Evil Beast originally resulted in The Presence reabsorbing The Beast back into itself, like it was something it had cast out long ago, forget that for now and explain how the interpretation of Empty Hand being the physical representation of that broken promise and thus a direct agent of The Great Darkness seeking to destroy the multiverse is somehow a misinterpretation.
