  • How exactly does FTL work in this setting? Both the UNSA and the SDF both have FTL-capable ships, but considering the close distance between Mars and Earth the war couldn't have taken place over more than a few days considering how fast each side's ships would be able to get to each other.
    • That's assuming that FTL jumping is as difficult as starting your average Camry. Since we're never shown what goes on behind the scenes or any "nonessential" activities, it's entirely possible the engines require cool-down or recharge time, recalibration, or maintenance after every jump or a few jumps. Given the amount of energy those engines almost certainly have to be channeling, not to mention the physical stress we're shown the ship being put through, periodic maintenance is almost a given, and that would slow the pace. So, while transit time is short, prepping for the trip may take considerably more. (Since we're also not shown Reyes or team eating, sleeping, or handling any of the other necessities of life, it's clear there's some missing time we don't see.)
    • A few lines of dialogue, and the fact that we still see wreckage and fires burning in Geneva during "Operation: Black Flag," indicate that the entire plot of the game takes place within a single day.
