• I realise I've almost certainly missed something here, but... what's so bad about the name 'Magwilde'?
  • I don't think there's meant to be a joke there — it just sounds pretty stupid.
  • It is probably non-existant outside of the series.
• What exactly is reciting dates meant to prove? Any fool can do that.
  • I think it was meant to show the level of the bad guy's ignorance and his hypocrisy- he calls himself a historian and an archaeologist and yet he can't even recognise some famous dates. Emphasis on think and meant.
