*** I'm getting sick of this misconception, Rukia only beat her opponent because he held her near his head and laughed like an idiot allowing her to repair her sword. If Halibel did the same Toshiro could repair his sword in her head as well and probably kill her.The 9th Espada is a Gillian he was never famous for any notable riatsu, physical strength, striking speed or speed in general and his Hierro is probably the least durable from what we've seen of the others.Yammy is an Espada with more physical strength and better durability than the 9th.Also Toshiro's sword manipulates the weather and we saw how scared Kira was of it's riatsu even Rangiku could sense it's activation from far. Also if you read Toshiro's gaiden it shows that when he was younger he froze things by leaking his riatsu out and could materialise Hyorinmaru in his sleep even though he did'nt have a Zanpakto or was a member of the Gotei 13.Just read the whole Halibel vs toshiro fight, he isn't doing so bad he pushed her back when she wasn't serious and when she got serious and attacked him Stark commented "You guys are tough", then later he gets smacked around again and gets back up.She fires her projectile Azul on page 6 of chapter 355 and on page 13 he's still standing after taking it, so that alone puts him quite high if he can take a signature attack from the serious base Halibel.

*** The simplest answer is likely the correct one: he makes no comment about its sealed form being a sword because ALL zanpakto sealed forms are swords, theres no sinister implications about him or his powers when thats simply the default shape, but Shikai can be basically anything so there form tends to reflect more on the wielder

* Why the hell are there no Fullbringers or High Spec humans among the Shinigami? Shinigami are just human souls that have recieved training and bonded to a Zanpakto, theres no reason any of the various kinds of special humans couldent become one or would lose there powers on death, Quincys we at least get a political explanation for why they wouldent be allowed, but the other two are nothing but positives, and sure there rare but the soul society has people from hundreds of years of history, and surely those that come to the soul society already with high spiritual powers and unique abilities would be more likely to rise to prominence in the ranks so i find it hard to believe not one of the seated members we see wouldent be one

*** Also, Rukia's attack against Aaroniero was to use ice to recreate her sword after it was broken. There's a LOT of inconsistent information on how well a soul reaper recovers from her sword breaking, but nobody's ever fixed it that easily before. Still, Rukia had spent the whole Soul Society arc (plus the warmup arc and a filler arc) trying to rebuild her lost power... so it finally paid off, enough to make her the one person who could use a recovery/attack like that, at least against an enemy stupid enough to let her.

****Those fans mistook Mayuri's words. He said that there were segments still MISSING, not that the segments still present were physically damaged. Those segments weren't just turned to confetti, but outright ERASED from existence. And before someone even says it, no, the remaining segments seeming undamaged disproves nothing; Mayuri explained in that very same chapter that the remaining pieces of a Bankai can be restored to solid shape, citing Ikkaku's weapon as an example. The problem is that the weapon's output of power will still be damaged even then. Of course, people calling this a retcon based on segment-count may be assuming that Hihio Zabimaru would have blank spots where the completely-destroyed segments once were, to which I would ask; WHY are they assuming that?

*** Actually, that "withhold their names" one ''kinda'' makes sense, if you think about it: Either the zanpakuto doesn't actually ''know'' its own name until the wielder realises what it is, or it's less about the name itself, and more about the wielder having an epiphany, causing them to accept their power as a part of themself on a subconscious level. In the first case, the zanpakuto is incapable of telling the wielder, and in the second case, telling them would at best do nothing whatsoever, and at worst outright prevent them from having said epiphany.

**** To be fair, Komamura's reason is pretty good: Since damage to his zanpakuto also affects him, his body is a reflection of his zanpakuto's state. Therefore, either his zanpakuto heals when he heals, or damaging his zanpakuto permanently cripples him and prevents it from being healed. Considering that they have both a team of trained medics ''and'' a mad scientist at their disposal, the former is the more likely of the two.

** Yes. You missed the fact that said "director of covert ops" is nonetheless an insufferable show-off who (a) usually speaks her mind bluntly and lacking the slightest ounce of subtlety or tact, (b) has stated to prefer Shunko over her Bankai, despite the fact that it is equally flashy and impractical for stealth, and (c) has even flipping announced her assassination when she fought Ggio, when a REAL assassin would've just wordlessly done it. With this in mind, her Bankai being just as impractical for assassination as her personality shouldn't come as a surprise.

* So, according to the final arc, zampakutos are created as blank slates, and develop based on the wielders' psyche. Fine, so [[Main/ManipulativeBastard Aizen]] gets illusions, [[Main/BloodKnight Kenpachi{] gets a berserker rage, and the DIRECTOR OF COVERT OPS gets a BAZOOKA?! Did I miss something there?

** How often are the spirits within a Zanpakuto that open about things anyway? In order to answer this question, you'd have to answer why Zanpakuto withhold their own names even if it means the death of their wielders.

*Let's talk about Shinken Hakyouken. It's an ancestral Zanpakuto designed to kill Gods. How does it define "Gods"? Because if you have a god killing sword on your side, you'd better use it on, well, God, not that random Owl. Lille talks a big game, but if anyone gets to be called a God, it's Yhwach, and i don't think Shinken Hakyouken would hurt him. Therefore, Shinken Hakyouken is to be renamed "The Mystic Paddle of Slaying Lille Barro"

** Assuming this isn't due to [[LamarckWasRight genetics]] (since Getsuga Tenshou is so far the only technique known to be shared between two different zanpakuto), it's possible that Isshin already did so off-screen, seeing as Engetsu doesn't change shape upon release (see Chapter 531).

**Compare Aizen to Kyoka Suigetsu himself. When does Kyoka Suigetsu fail to use its illusionary powers? When it's stabbing someone, or if someone manages to grab it. Aizen's the same way. He trusts power WAY too much, as he demonstrated when he blew away that freaky train thingy in the Dangai. When he feels he has enough power, he forgets all about trickery. The same happens if he's blindsided by power he hadn't planned for; just like when Kyoka Suigetsu forgets illusions when it's grabbed, Aizen panics and forgets trickery, instead desperately clinging to the power he mistakenly trusts so much. The only lies he was capable of telling at that point were to himself.

Furthermore, Zangetsu states that [[spoiler: He was against the idea of Ichigo becoming a Shinigami, and suppressed his power so he could possibly dissuade Ichigo from committing to that lifestyle]]....so why doesn't Zangetsu just [[spoiler: tell Ichigo he's a Quincy, and that he doesn't want him to become a Shinigami? I can see why Ichigo would refuse to quit being a Shinigami, but maybe they could have formed a compromise, which in turn would allow Ichigo to use Blut Vene and the like in combat while retaining his Shinigami powers?]]

****Yachiru's zanpakutou has been revealed to be [[spoiler:two invisible demonic creatures that attack in tandem with her, giving her triple (or more) her effective range. In other words, she has all the advantages of being a small fighter (quick, small target) with none of the disadvantages (poor range, possibly strength since her demon friends attack for her).]] That should make her one of the more troublesome physical fighters in the series in spite of her small size.

***All of Tosen's abilities compensate in some way for the fact that he's blind. His first ability, Suzumushi, doesn't need to be aimed at all, since sound travels in all directions at equal speeds. Whether or not he can see his target is totally irrelevant. He just has to know that he's near them. His second ability, Suzumushi Nishiki, hits a large area, meaning that he doesn't need to aim precisely in order to hit his target. He just has to know vaguely where they are. This ability could be an example of the zanpakutou developing alongside the owner. Nishiki could have developed in response to him getting better at sensing his opponent's location and no longer needing to rely on soundwaves. Lastly, his bankai, the Enmakorogi, destroys his opponents' sight, hearing and sense of spiritual pressure, effectively switching his and his opponents' roles around so that Tosen is the one with the superior sensory perception. As for the debate as to whether he took his friend's zanpakutou, the Thousand Blood War arc revealed that zanpakutou are not created from a soul, as such, they're projected onto an existing object. Novice Soul Reapers are given Asauchi, blank zanpakutou that they keep with them at all times. Over time they impress their soul upon it and it develops a spirit of its own, which is the zanpakutou spirit. It's entirely possible that Tosen's friend's zanpakutou was still an Asauchi when he took it, and it was him that ended up imprinting on it instead of her.

** Recent events in the manga have confirmed that Zanpakuto are indeed created by imprinting on an Asauchi, a "blank" one, sort of like a blank canvas. It could probably be reasoned that Zanpakuto retain some of the traits of Asauchi even after they've become unique Zanpakuto, namely the ability to adapt according to the wielder. This would explain why Tousen can wield his dead friend's Zanpakuto; perhaps it was very different when she had it, and gradually changed to what it is now after he obtained it. Furthermore, Oh-etsu Nimaya, the creator of Zanpakuto, explains that he does indeed keep track of every single Zanpakuto there is, somehow, so perhaps he has some involvement in how the Zanpakuto system works. As for how Zanpakuto are effected by the death of their wielders indefinitely, I really couldn't say. The only real evidence we have thus far is that Zanpakuto are indeed influenced by familial connections, seeing how son Ichigo's Zangetsu and father Isshin's Engetsu are very similar. As a side note, Nimaya also explains that EVERY Zanpakuto EVER has manifested from a Asauchi, [[spoiler:Except for Zangetsu, which manifested directly from Ichigo's inner Hollow for some reason]], and that this is EXTREMELY abnormal, but it justifies the possibility that Zanpakuto CAN be created and changed by alternative means. Only time will tell how that works, though, hopefully.
