* Why did the cylons destroy the armistice station at the very beginning of the miniseries? I've literally had people immediately reject the series because how stupid it was to put their own people/cylins/resources on the station then blow them away. I need a valid explanation not a "the shot looked cool" because it doesn't look cool if it's senseless.

** They are making a statement. They want to the humans to be sacred, and first they terrify the negotiator personally, then they blow up the symbol of the negotiatons. It is an exercise in terror and sadism. They are not losing resources, not in any meaningful way, a rounding error in terms of armaments and resources, because the Cylons will be reborn in the nearest Ressurection Ship.

** I wouldn't worry too much about making sense of that stuff considering those five being revealed as cylons was a massive retcon and Moore has even said this. It doesn't all add up because it doesn't add up.

** It's conceivable there's a sci-fi solution that's never stated. Perhaps their civilization automatically gave everyone some genetic sequence, retro virus, whatever, that makes them very resistant to very broad bacterial and viral agents. After all, that radiation treatment injection Helo was using is pretty remarkable.

(Not that I believe for a moment that everybody in fleet would agree to give up their technology considering the endless bitter squabbles they had over far more trivial matters.)
