• Since Archie and Doll's marriage was never consummated, could Archie ask for an annulment and claim that the affidavit signed by Doll lacks any legitimacy?
  • He probably could ask for annulment - no doubt to further ridicule by the townfolk - but the affidavit itself hardly depends on whether they're legally married or not. On the contrary, if the case comes to court, and by that time Baby Doll decides to change her mind about being a witness, she cannot be compelled to testify against Archie only if she is recognized as his wife.
