Go To

These are goofs for season 4, episode 7 of Father Brown.

Goofs in this episode:

  • Sgt. Goodfellow explains to Inspector Mallory that the reason Father Brown is there before them is because they are Catholic and need the Last Rites. We see Father Brown in fact performing the Last Rites, along with Extreme Unction.
    • The Last Rites and unction can only be given to living people. Dead people do not receive Last Rites; a dead person cannot receive any earthly sacrament. This error happens repeatedly throughout the series, although it is not as common for Father Brown to go quite as far as he does in this episode, providing the Holy Anointing to the forehead lips, hands, and legs.
  • Millie starts the plane from inside the cockpit. However, the type of plane she is in would require the propeller to be spun beforehand to start the engine.
  • When Ned returns, Lady Felicia and Mrs. McCarthy re-make Millie's bed for her father to sleep in, and in the meantime, Millie will sleep in a day bed in her mother's room. This room is the room her father is killed in, and presumably, where his body is.
    • In almost the next scene, Meg tells Millie to go to her room, insistently and repeatedly. But Millie's room has her dead father in it. More than once Millie is sent to "her room" without a second thought.
    • All the while, the story relies on Millie being in her mother's room the night of the killing.
