The Sventon books relies heavily on a very distinctive and, for a Children's book series, somewhat esoteric sense of humor (for instance, many of the puns are hard to translate outside Sweden). If you appreciate that kind of humor, however, you will have some hilarious reading to look forward to;

- Virtually all conversations between Omar, whose politeness causes him to speak overtly lengthy about the most trivial things, and other characters (particularly impatient ones or those who are not used to his speaking).
- Another major source of comedy in the books is the usage of overtly detailed expositions of trivial things (see below).

- It is mentioned that when the Fredriksson sisters' father celebrated 50 years as a builder, 207 of his closest friends raised money to afford his present, the gold trophy "Jubelkalle".
