Funny / Sailor Moon SuperS: The Movie

  • After the opening, there's an amusing scene at Mako's apartment. Eventually, the talk goes towards how baking cookies is a way to find happiness. Innocent little Diana misinterprets this and wonders if Mako (who's teaching everyone) has already found happiness. There is a Beat followed by Sweat Drops. The Viz dub has Artemis also thinking, "I think we need to have The Talk."
  • In both dubs, during the cookie-baking scene, when Rei scolds Minako for eating all the chocolate chips they were going to use for the cookies.
    • DiC dub:
Raye: Hey Mina, don't! There are hardly any chocolate chips left, and we need all we have, so stop chowing down!
Mina: [mouth full] But I can't stop eating them. Besides, someone should make sure they're fresh enough.
Artemis: [aside] She should be assigned to the cleanup crew instead.
Raye: But Serena already checked the first half of the bag for freshness!
    • Viz dub:
Rei: Come on, Minako. In case you haven't noticed, you've eaten most of the chocolate chips that were supposed to be for the cookies.
Minako: [mouth full] Yeah, but it's so good for my health. You know, "Some chocolate a day keeps the doctor away."
Artemis: [aside] You hear enough of these things and you start believing them.
  • When Makoto awkwardly tries to state that happiness comes from the pursuit of happiness, Minako congratulates her on how that didn't sound the least bit convincing.
  • Then there's Usagi's facial expression after biting into one of her cookies, after gloating that since her cookies look so much better than Chibi-Usa's, they must taste better too. WRONG. To add to Usagi's humiliation, Chibi-Usa's cookies, though they look unappetizing, are delicious.
  • At one point, Mamoru has a pair of slippers that each sport a mask that his Tuxedo Mask alter-ego wears.
  • Chibi-Usa gets hypnotized "Pied Piper"-style and Diana goes to wake up Usagi. When a polite word doesn't work, the little kitten climbs up and yells in her ear. And it works by making Usagi fall out of her bed!
  • Later, the Guardians are hypnotized by the enemy and hallucinate they are in a gingerbread house. Usagi eagerly grabs something to eat, only for Tuxedo Mask to shatter the illusion and reveal that she is about to eat a hanging plastic ring from a playground. She laughs, and pushes it away, only for it to smack her back in the face.
  • Also, Sailor Neptune disapproves of the thought of staying a child forever, and says she can think of some "fun things" only adults can do. Sailor Uranus blushes after this.
  • Neptune's line in the Cloverway English dub, about how a full life can contain plenty of "wonderful experiences," sounds just a little bit less suspicious.
  • The introduction of the Outers in the og Dub is laughably staged, thanks to a mix of the actresses rushing through their dialogue and said dialogue already being pretty silly.
