  • Towards the end of chapter one of the manga, Suna gets Yamato to confess her feelings for Takeo while (unknown to her) Takeo is under the bed hearing every word. When she finally declares she likes him, Suna tells him to come out, which Takeo does by lifting the bed while Yamato is still sitting on it.
    • Episode 3 of the anime played it differently, having Takeo's emerging from the bed look like a scene out of Attack on Titan. To top it off, while Takeo and Yamato are declaring their mutual Love at First Sight, the view shifts to show Suna... who's sitting at his desk with his earbuds in, calmly reading, completely ignoring the lovebirds.
    • The happy couple provides Suna with a thank-you cake, and Suna has some hilarious internal monologue about the gaudy thing: "This cake looks like it has a fairy or something hiding inside".
  • The third chapter / fourth episode features Takeo awesomely saving people from a burning building and himself escaping by leaping out a third story window. Immediately afterward, Suna is putting out the flames on his back while he's busy hugging Yamato, and Suna's expression just shouts "I know you've got your own priorities, buddy, so I got you here." We also later see that the fire burned off most of the back of Takeo's clothes, resulting in his back and rear end exposed.
    • Anime specific to episode four is Takeo's guy friends trying to throw him up into the air to celebrate his girlfriend. Hefting him up into the air works all right, but actually catching him and not being crushed under his size, well... At the end of the episode they try it again because of his above awesome moment.
  • Takeo's Expressive Shirt in chapter 6/episode 9. It starts out blank and keeps changing captions throughout based on Takeo's mood or what he's doing at the time. It even says "Liar" when Suna says to his sister and mother that he was okay by himself.
  • During episode 6:
    • Ai and Yamato both blushing n' gushing about all the things they find attractive about Takeo is amusing enough, given the albeit one-sided tension they had earlier, but the kicker is Suna getting increasingly creeped out(note that the former's his sister!) as the conversation escalates into what they find sexually attractive about him, and silently distances himself with every sentence.
    • After talking to Suna and Ai about holding back her feelings, Yamato runs off to Takeo's apartment. She immediately trips and does a Face Plant. What makes it hilarious is that she immediately gets back up, then runs off as if nothing happened.
    • Takeo rescuing a cat from a tree. After he grabs it, the cat angrily claws at his face, and he seems oblivious to the pain as he chats with Ai and Suna who were passing by.
    • Takeo forcing Suna to help him get some experience in kissing before doing it with Yamato, with the latter understandably against the idea.
  • Episode 9, when Suna's dad is undergoing surgery:
Takeo: WHERE IS THE OPERATING ROOM??
Nurse: The delivery room is on the third floor!
    Takeo: THE OPERATING ROOM!
Nurse: I thought your wife was in labor.
    • Then later when Takeo, then Ai and Suna's mother all end up violently shaking one of the surgeons after the operation. The poor doctor ends up throwing up.
    • Yamato and Takeo talking excitedly amongst themselves about hooking Suna up with a female version of Takeo. Suna's horrified reaction is priceless.
  • Episode 10:
    • Takeo covered in mosquito bites after sleeping out in the woods with Yamato. It doesn't seem to faze him as he says he slept soundly.
    • Yamato's Imagine Spot of her and Takeo living in the woods with some kids and wearing stereotypical cavemen outfits.
  • Episode 11:
    • Takeo bringing way too much stuff to the beach, such as cooking pans, and several watermelons. Suna also tells him the inflatable items should be filled after they get to the beach, not before as it would take up too much space. He also tells Suna he's going to the beach with them whether he wants to or not.
    • Yamato's various plans to try and make Takeo's heart skip a beat fail after she gets too embarrassed to act on anything she or her friends planned, such as her choice of swimwear.
    • Takeo swims so fast and so far away from the other beachgoers that he kind of looks like a whale swimming by. Lampshaded by Nanako, who asks Rinko if the thing that looks like a whale is, in fact, Takeo.
    • Takeo and Yamato's Almost Kiss after two of his friends accidentally pull a Moment Killer on them to invite them to play with some fireworks. His lips are puckered up as he retracts them slowly after they ruin the mood.
  • Episode 12:
    • Suna asking Takeo definitions for various English words, such as "escape". Takeo then acts out said words, and in this instance dons a stereotypical Japanese thief outfit with a bandana tied around his nose. Suna ends up laughing at each of his examples.
    • Takeo getting constantly irritated by his parents constantly doting on him and Yamato while they attempt to study. It gets so bad they end up going to Suna's place instead.
    • Yamato laying on top of a sleeping Takeo while Suna goes out to make tea. She then immediately has an embarrassed look on her face when he comes back in early to ask what kind of tea she wanted. Suna then closes the door, realizing he just did a Moment Killer, with Yamato attempting to explain herself.
    • Takeo attempting to keep everything he studied in his head at the mock college exam that he runs into a pillar.
    • After failing the exam, Yamato tells Takeo he probably wouldn't have been able to get into the college she wanted to go to anyway. She then states it was a women's college, which Suna knew about, but didn't mention due to Takeo's sheer determination to try and get into the same college as her.
  • While preparing for the Sports Fest, the class is arguing over which two events that Takeo is going to participate in (everyone wants him in THEIR event), and one student states that Takeo is the reason the limit was set.
  • Episode 13:
    • Takeo inviting Suna to the movie with Yamato, only to then fall asleep while watching it. He even ends up leaning on Suna a little bit.
    • Hayato's introduction. He looks very similar to Suna, and starts asking some rather personal questions despite being a stranger, and in a case of Mistaken Identity, assumes that Suna was Takeo. Once the real Takeo shows up with their order, Hayato immediately apologizes before getting dragged out of the restaurant by a very annoyed Ai.
    • Takeo's apologies to Hayato scares him, due to Takeo having No Sense of Personal Space, and the latter not being used to it like Ai and Suna are. At one point, Takeo does a Stealth Hi/Bye to him at the park at night, and the poor guy's hair turns white from fright. Then in a matter of seconds, it returns to its original color as they talk.
    • Ai constantly getting annoyed any time Hayato is around, turning Blue with Shock when he tries to goad her into a Love Confession, and threatening him with a fork when he tries to spill the beans himself.
  • Episode 14:
    • Hayato's constant scheming to get Ai and Takeo alone and Ai making scary faces at him in anger.
    • Takeo getting easily spooked by stuff in the boat ride, and the 3D building.
    • Ai has a couple of Flash Back moments with a young Takeo. In one scene he says he lost his hat, with Ai replying he's already wearing it. In another he says he's missing a sock, and Ai replies that he's wearing both of them on one foot.
    • Takeo and Yamato are nearly about to have a kiss while watching the parade...only for Suna to accidentally do a Moment Killer for them. He says to ignore him and that he'll just be watching the parade, but the two are too embarrassed by that point.
  • Episode 15:
    • Takeo chases after a woman and her young child in a seemingly menacing manner. However, he just wanted to return the shoe that fell off the kid's foot.
    • Takeo later chases Saijou in a similar manner to return a handkerchief she dropped, causing her to suddenly run much faster than normal. They end up using this to help train her for the relay race.
      • Even funnier, other members of the relay team witness this and suggest having Takeo chase them, too, in order to improve their own performance.
    • Takeo telling Saijou to lean on his shoulder after she nearly trips down the stairs. She is then leaning/hanging off of him in a very awkward position, several feet/meters from the floor. Suna then suggest using his shoulder, but like Takeo, he's a little too tall for her and Suna has to lean awkwardly to support her in this position.
  • Episode 17:
    • Four intimidating looking men are themselves scared out of their wits when they discuss an urban legend that someone matching Takeo's description couldn't possibly exist. Only to then see him walking behind them. And as Takeo greets Yamato who was waiting nearby, they also can't believe he's got a girlfriend.
    • Three of the said toughs end up being in the same karaoke bar as Yamato and Takeo. One of them says he vaguely recognizes her, but isn't sure from where. Kurihara initially flees, but then shows back up with Takeo, who peers out from the other hallway. Said guys immediately remember she was Takeo's girlfriend, and flee the scene again.
    • Yamato suffers a simultaneous Color Failure and a Heroic BSoD when she finds out that Nanako and Kurihara have already had their First Kiss, something she hasn't done yet despite having been with Takeo much longer than her friend with Kurihara. Nanako accidentally rubs it in more when she offers advice on kissing Takeo.
  • Yamato speaks to Ai about what to do for Takeo's birthday. While doing so, Yamato asks Suna if he had ever kissed anyone. Ai assumes no, since he hasn't even had a girlfriend. Suna doesn't answer... he's too horrified by the memory of Takeo's forced practice kiss.
  • Episode 20:
    • Takeo keeps doing celebratory banzai poses at the thought of getting chocolates from Yamato. At one point, he throws his bag behind him without noticing. Without a word, Suna goes to get it and shoves it back under Takeo's arm.
  • At the end episode 22, Yukiko notes that Suna loves him. Later, Takeo is talking to Suna and asks Suna if he likes him. Suna's response is to immediately back his chair away from Takeo with a scared look on his face.
  • Episode 23:
    • Takeo, being his usual self, is trying to watch out for Yamato while she's working. How? By hiding his massive frame behind a newspaper dispenser.
  • Episode 24:
    • It starts off with Suna running into Takeo coming back home so completely soaked, it's more like he's covered in tar. Suna, for the first time ever, screams. His mother also ends up screaming offscreen once he goes into his apartment.
    • Takeo rushing to the bakery at full sprint. He's completely exhausted and sweaty, which freaks out the employees. Fortunately the bakery owner realizes that Takeo was there to pick up the cooking utensils.
  • Takeo's and Yamato's Forgotten First Meeting when they are small children strangely and funnily enough plays out exactly like one of their present day dates. Takeo saves her from trouble, Yamato offers him chocolate, they have silly conversations, Suna helps them some with of his common sense, and Yamato always stops running to wave back when they say their goodbyes.
  • While watching Takeo's baby sister Maki at a park, Suna tells her that her big brother might not need him around any more, and that while he believes it's a good thing, the thought makes him feel lonely. Takeo abruptly looms up and says that he heard what Suna said. Suna's normal calm composure breaks with a hilarious bug-eyed stare of panic.
  • In general, if you see Suna laughing, it's because Takeo has just done something absurd again. Like getting mistaken for a pervert trying to protect grade-schoolers from same. Or getting suspended from school for trying to put the man who groped Rinko through a wall...right in front of a police officer .
