• Martian Manhunter watches TV to learn human language and culture. While flipping through a cartoon, he transforms into Bugs Bunny (who, for bonus points, is reprised by Joe Alaskey in the animated film), then Groucho Marx, and then finally the Native American head that appeared on TV station sign-off cards in the 1950s.
  • The fact that it's clear just how amazed J'onn is by what he's watching.
    Martian Manhunter: I ingest the news programs, current affairs, and the popular game shows. Even brilliant achievements in art that features fantastic creatures known as "cartoons".
  • Then J'onn decides to watch a sci-fi movie to see how much knowledge about Mars Earth has collected. His reaction is basically him MSTing it and laughing his ass off.
    J'onn: I can see the strings!
  • Much later on, J'onn takes his Manhunter form for the first time so he doesn't scare someone into a heart attack like the scientist who brought him to Earth. Agent Faraday's reaction? "Real men wear pants."
• Batman's line about needing a "$70,000 sliver of meteor" to stop Superman is badass. But it becomes outright hilarious when the special issue detailing his battle with Superman reveals that he didn't even buy the Kryptonite. Selina Kyle stole it from Lex Luthor on Bruce's behalf.
• In the short tale "Wonder Woman & Black Canary: Fight the Gender War!", when Wonder Woman complains to Black Canary about sexism while looking at a nudie magazine, BC responds that she recognizes one of the pin-up girls from middle school.
  • Later, when they decided to barge into a gentlemen's club in their crusade, Wonder Woman is in her Diana Prince identity while BC remains in costume.
    Diana Prince: I thought the idea was to blend in?
    Black Canary: Take a look around. (referring to the bunny girls) I'm not the one with a blending problem.
  • To Wonder Woman's utter shock, Bruce Wayne is a regular customer. When Diana confronts him, Bruce says he's really undercover in search of a criminal, and awkwardly walks off claiming he spotted that criminal.
    Diana: What a world we live in. Even the good guys are dogs.
  • The men were beaten to a pulp, yet are staring gleefully at Wonder Woman's breasts because she removed her chest plate to set it on fire as a demonstration.
    Wonder Woman: Even in defeat these swine smile and slobber.
    Black Canary: Maybe you should put your top back on.
