• At the end of book two, one of the male characters asks one of the female characters to come visit him at his manor. After she complains about not having anything to do when she's not busy healing people, especially him, the following conversation occurs.
  (Vahanian) Man: I could suggest other pastimes.
  (Carina) Woman: I'll have to bring my chaperone. [turns to her brother]
  (Cam) Woman's Brother: I can be bribed.
