Being a Fighting Game based on a popular comedy manga such as Azumanga Daioh, Azumanga Fighter doesn't take itself very seriously.
- In general, the characters fight using silly-looking and very funny moves and styles (Most of them involve the girl changing clothes for a very brief instant), sometimes as references to aspects of the manga series, or infamous incidents, such as Osaka with a knife!
- Sakaki's winposes are comedy gold:
- The first one has Kaorin putting herself in front of Sakaki and the downed opponent with Blank White Eyes, as if trying to defend her. Not that she actually needs it.
- Another one has Kaorin showing up on-screen and handing Sakaki a picture, who reacts in complete shock and looks away in disgust. Priceless!
- Chiyo may be the smallest of the (human) characters, but it's pretty funny how she can do a lot of damage with her short arms and legs if given the chance. Even one of her attacks has her calling Tadakichi-san to help her.
