Funny / Ai no Wakakusa Monogatari

Go To

  • The Japanese opening sequence has Amy carrying a giant package and bumping into Beth from behind, Jo dropping the apple she's eating while sitting in a tree reading, Amy jealously grabbing her father's face to get him to look at her instead of Beth, and a play gone terribly wrong when a backdrop crashes down on top of Jo with Jo's head poking through the canvas.
  • Milky-Ann wetting Amy's dress when Amy held her for the first time, and Amy's reactions are priceless.
  • This exchange between Aunt March and David from the first time we see him hounding her for money in episode 7
David: Thank you! How may I show my gratitude?
Aunt March: By becoming a man.
    • In general, Aunt March's snarkiness is pretty dang funny.
  • Episode 13 introduces Laurie, and he tosses a snowball in the air for no reason and (in the English dub) giving a very flat "Hooray!" after seeing Jo for the first time.
  • In episode 24, Laurie's glee at secretly watching an awkward moment between Meg and Mr. Brooke, who are in love with each other, as they listen to Beth play the piano.
  • In the first episode Jo jumps over a fence in front of a stuffy old woman. Amy wants to follow her and promptly excuses herself to the woman... and jumps the fence as well.
  • Hannah's panic over Milky-Ann coming into the kitchen, only to forget her fear of cats when Milky-Ann pees on the kitchen floor, and she scolds the cat, completely ticked off.
  • Episode 18 has two moments. Amy tries to paint over the patch on Jo's best gown, and when Meg asks Beth how she should wear her hair, Beth can only shrug. Her face sells it.
  • In Episode 22, Hannah is opening a bottle of champagne, and the cork flies off and hits Jo in the face.
  • At the beginning of episode 29, during a rather serious scene of Jo getting mad at Amy for burning her book, Jo grabs the tablecloth and covers Beth with it in attempt to cover Amy. Beth's lack of reaction is pretty funny.
  • In episode 35, Meg has a hard time falling asleep, so she finds Jo, sitting on the roof. Jo guesses she's having a hard time falling asleep because she's in love with Mr. Brooke. Meg tells her that Jo's talking about love made her sleepy.
