Fridge Brilliance
- Kleiner's teleporter works completely smoothly since he's packing up his lab and getting the hell out of City 17 — he's through first and brought Lamarr along in a cat carrier so there was no way she could interfere.
- The vortigaunts note that humanity's ability to sense the Vortessence is "impaired". Given their affinity to the Ethereal's psionics and the vorts being from another dimension, it makes sense that humans are set up to be receptive to the way psychic powers work in their universe than that of the vortigaunts.
Fridge Horror
- When the Combine learn that humans have the potential for psionic abilities, who knows how the advisors might react? Just because humankind may suddenly have value doesn't mean that the Combine won't continue to strip them of their humanity and start mass-producing psionic slaves, no different than the Elders. They might even decide to pull the plug if they judge humanity too dangerous to be left alive.
