  • Why is it called an opera if it's a musical? Because like in classic opera, the upper class wins.
    • It's also an opera because it says it is - the line between opera and other forms of musical theatre is not clearly defined, and is largely attributable to the repertoire choices of the opera houses of the world rather than any objective differentiating crieteria.
      • There are plenty of classical operas where the upper class is made to look foolish and suffers at the hands of working-class and servant characters.
      • Technically, it's neither an opera nor a musical - it's most often classified as being a play with music.
