* A minor one, but the fact that by the time of ''Life, the Universe and Everything'', Wowbagger must have already insulted Agrajag. As if Agrajag isn't already insanely tetchy from being (accidentally) killed by Arthur over and over while just trying to live his life, a rich immortal has shown up to insult him for no reason.

* The in-universe Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy states that the Vogons, while unpleasant, are not actually evil. Yet, one of the first things we see the Vogons do in the series is casually murder billions of people. This is an early hint that the Guide isn't actually a credible source of information.

This is just text copied from the book almost verbatim, nothing fridge about it.

**Adding to the sheer mind-fuck of it all, Douglas Adams died after a particularly strenuous workout. According to friends, exercise was one of his main modes of stress relief, the other being smoking, the combination of which brought on the heart attack that killed him. What was the biggest source of stress in Adams's life at the time of his death? Working to convince Disney to finally make the film adaptation of ''The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy''. Arthur Dent killed not only Agrajag but also the actor voicing him in the radio series.

* The fact that some events happen within the universe in Zarniwoop's office, which allows Zaphod to go where he wants, is of course massively foreshadowed by the statement that Zarniwoop is on an intergalactic cruise in his office. However, additionally, in ''Fit the Twelfth'', Marvin says "It's your universe. You go where you like." This is not only a foreshadowing; Marvin ''knows'' that it's their universe (and that they can go where they like) because he has a large mind and can understand what Zaphod's reaction to the Total Perspective Vortex implies.
