Neelix's riddle falls apart when you remember that aliens in Star Trek don't speak English, it's just that Translator Microbes make it seem that way.The entire riddle hinges on the fact that certain words in the English language have multiple meanings (dates and Sundays/sundaes in this case).
The idea that the Vulcan and Talaxian languages would be structured the same way would be a huge coincidence.
