• Ophelia's "Opal Blanche" nightclub dancer pseudonym basically means "White Jewel White". (Opal is a white jewel, and Blanche means "white" in French.) Ophelia, who has been rejected from numerous nightclubs for being black, likely chose the name with irony fully intended. Out of universe, it's also to a subversion on the old comics trope of giving the black guy a Code Name with the word "black" in it.
