Fridge Brilliance
  • Scarlemagne and Kipo both were separated from their parents but turned out differently. Why is that? Because Scarlemagne was left alone constantly, while Kipo was given the love and support she needed.
    • Kipo was also all Lio had left of his family, whereas Hugo was on his own again.
  • Wolf doesn't mind being in a pack with the others. A hint at her upbringing.
  • In a flashback about Dr. Emilia and Liam, she scolds her brother for befriending mutes, saying "They took our world from us, Liam. Everything they have, they took from us!" Ironically, before they became mutes, animals could've said the same thing about us deforesting their land and homes. This lends a certain hypocrisy to Dr. Emilia's views on Mutes.
  • In hindsight, it’s quite funny that the Timbercats are the first Mutes to ally themselves with Kipo. That’s because Kipo can turn into a Mega Jaguar. She’s a literal cat-person!
    • Yumyan even gets to say he always knew Kipo had a little cat in her!
  • The only mutes that are not extremely tribal and don't seem to mind other species (and have an "every mute for themselves" attitude towards life) are the rats. Regular, un-mutated rats in real life are a very social species, with complex social dynamics and family structures.
  • There's actually some foreshadowing that Scarlemagne wasn't the one responsible for the collar around the megamute monkey aka Song. Most mutes don't seem to know how to build their own tech and instead scavenge parts from what remains of old human civilization or use other animals as vehicles. Do you know who have the material to build and create? Humans.
  • The Newton Wolves suggesting that Kipo eats the rest of the humans makes sense as it's mentioned that the wolves tend to eat their enemies.
  • Seems strange that no-one, human or Mute, ever comments on Kipo's natural pink skin and hair there are easy explanations. Kipo's from a burrow which are rare so the Mutes could've written this off as normal for humans in general, the same can be said for human's in the Oak's adoptive burrow especially if her father told them about their original home being based around science and genetics.
  • After the cats officially forge an alliance with the snakes under Kipo, Yumyan joyfully declares he'll babysit the assembled children of the different species. Cats are actually a very parental species, and are even known to sometimes adopt babies of other species. So its not too strange to imagine a hyper intelligent cat being so enthusiastic to care for the offspring of other Mutes.
  • It would make sense that the Scooter Skunks aren't one of the first Mute tribes Kipo recruits to join HMUFA since they're constantly traveling on their motorcycles.
  • It seems odd that Wolf replaces Stalky with a rope in season 3 since it requires a vastly different style of fighting. However in "To Catch a Deathstalker" when Kipo and Wolf re-visit her old home, she is shown to know how to fight with rope, as demonstrated with the jump rope.

Fridge Horror
  • Word of God states that the pelt Wolf wears is taken from the mother Alpha Wolf of her adopted family, who only kept her around to make her a better hunt for the pups. Well, what did Wolf do with the rest of the family, exactly?
    • Two of her siblings, at least, survived. Wolf did warn them that she'd have no problem killing them, either.
    • A potential sequel film is supposed to involve Wolf's wolf-dad being alive too.
    • Going off of the premise for that potential sequel film, Wolf sees her wolf-dad raising three new pups alongside a little girl. Considering how he and his wife treated Wolf when she was raised alongside the pups, is he planning to repeat the cycle? How many other mute families use human children to test the capabilities of their own children?
  • Wolf's first lines, after capturing Mandu - "Can you talk, mute? I'm no barbarian. If a mute can talk, it's not chow. All I need to hear is one little 'yes'." - hit way harder when you know Wolf's backstory.
  • Not to trivialize the heartwarming moment of Kipo saying Wolf is her best friend, but it doesn't suggest her having a good relationship with anyone, besides her father, back in her burrow.
    • Subverted when they find Kipo's people in the season 1 finale and everyone is glad to see her and we even meet other kids from school who she's friends with. Its likely that "best friend" is a title she would bestow to someone she shared a special bond with which would definitely apply to Wolf.
  • Jamack tries to convince Kipo to give up her people with the deal that they won't even know she was the one who sold them out. Were there other humans before her that took that offer?
  • Jamack's banishment may seem harsh up until you realize the Mega Bunny almost stepped on some tadpoles since they can be seen screaming and swimming away from its paw in one scene. Imagine ignoring your coworker's complaints about a funny smell, only to unintentionally lure a large beast into your home and have it nearly squash some children.
  • Given how hateful Emilia and Liam's father was, he very likely would've continued his vile mindset regardless if he found out Mutes were decent creatures. Considering Emilia was willing to kill her brother to keep the Burrow's perception of Mutes the same, just how terrible was he that she's that afraid of straying from his path? And furthermore, how would he have treated his kids if both of them were onboard with Mutes?
  • Dr Emilia's getting captured by the mold mute Fun Gus. Given how powerful it was shown to be and how quickly it got angry when someone didn't want to play with it, it's highly likely that it ended up tearing her apart.
    • Can't say she didn't deserve it. RIP Hugo and Liam.
    • Don’t forget the “cured” Mutes.
    • Alternately, someone as manipulative as Emilia may twist Fun Gus to her own ends. The only reason Gus was so limited was because he couldn't leave the burrow. Emilia's adept at biology.
  • In the five years later epilogue, Yumyan and Bad Billions are still seen as regular animals, which cements the fact that the cure is irreversible. If the cured mutes now live like regular animals, this could potentially mean they will live shorter lives. For instance, since rats live for only 2-4 years, Brad may be long dead by now.
  • Dave is immortal. He’s going to outlive his friends. How many other friends did he make throughout the years only to leave behind?
  • While the mutes and humans in Las Vistas live in harmony, we are never shown if Kipo has come across/seeked out other burrows or humans surviving the surface. Are they still living in fear, believing that Scarlemagne and the other mutes are still out to kill them?
