If Quack Quack had actually died, Mr. Cat would probably have a really, really hard time coming to terms with what he did. Kaeloo blatantly loves Quack Quack more than anyone else, so there's also no telling how this incident would have impacted Kaeloo and Mr. Cat's relationship. And given how emotionally attached Mr. Cat is to Kaeloo, their relationship crumbling, added with the guilt he had from killing his own friend, would probably drive him further off the deep end than he already is.
