At one point in the game, you're given the opportunity to get Cliff a job at the Aja Winery. Miss it, and he leaves Mineral Town and never returns. What makes it scary to think about is the fact that he's implied to be suicidal, and that by not giving him a reason to stay, you've pretty much extinguished his will to live.
Claire, the Distaff Counterpart of Pete, is also implied to be depressed in her BTN backstory, as she has no friend nor family to go back to. If the storm never occurred and the ship she was on successfully reached its destination, what would Claire do in a completely new place with low cash, no home, no job, no association and no legitimate plan? Getting stranded on Mineral Beach while suffering mild amnesia might be a blessing in disguise for her.
According to Mayor Thomas, the farm used to be great and populated. So why is it that when the players acquire the farm, none of the barns or your house are upgraded?
In Back to Nature: For Girl, the Doctor confesses to Carter about feeling useless because most of his patients are pregnant mothers, and Elli can help deliver the babies without him, since the Doctor is not trained in midwifery. Outside the Doctor's events, we never see any pregnant mothers or their newborn babies.
