Fridge Brilliance

  • In Season 1's "Togetherness", we see the heroic trio bickering, but Galvant and Sid bicker about Isabella together. Isabella doesn't pair with either of them. We see this such as when she snores or when they plot to kill her (in response to her plotting to kill the both of them). As knight and squire, they have experienced so much togetherness over the years (including the one where Galavant was in a drunken heartbreak) that their quirks no long bother the other as much, and their companionship is solid.
  • Galavant starts out the season intent on saving the helpless Madalena from the evil King Richard. The season ends with him helping to save the helpless King Richard from the evil Madalena.
  • In season 1, episode 1 we see the banners in King Richards castle. Guess what is on those banners? Dragons!
  • How did Kingsley know about Galavant & Richard's Plan to kill him, long enough to give him time to set a trap for them? They were running about the Castle, singing about it, as well as Richard announcing it to those in the Tavern!?
  • Season 2, Episode 1, Galvant and Richard escape from the Enchanted Forest through the door to the Ladies restroom, which none of the patrons ever noticed because the Enchanted Forest is actually a Gay Bar. But wouldn't the Queen of the pub, who sang a song earlier, need to use the Ladies restroom? Not if she was a Drag Queen!
  • Season 2 has Chef cuss at Isabella and give her a glare before accepting an object she asks him to hold on to. Sure, she had just subjected him to a musical number before he waited all night to receive the object, but consider one of Isabella's known traits is loud and disgusting snoring. Not only has Chef been made to wait all night for an object Isabella claimed was extremely important, but the glare he gave was also one of disgust at having to listen to such an awful sound all night.
  • In Season 1, Madalena is shown to be a voracious eater who explains that she got into the habit of gorging on whatever's available because she grew up poor and was never sure when her next meal would be. In Season 2, she claims to prefer "eating lightly/vegan dinners nightly". Since she's Queen of Valencia by this point, she doesn't have to worry about food supplies so she can eat as much or as little as she wants.
  • Why is Hortensia's changing of the guard so elaborate and silly? The chant makes the guards sound like children playing a game. But considering how young the king is...It makes more sense.
  • During "Let's Agree to Disagree", Madalena and Gareth only rhyme their own verses. This is because they are not on the same page, which is why Sid is having them discuss their likes in order to find common ground. He even badgers them about this throughout the song. The two ultimately rhyme jointly when they finally start to "synch".

Fridge Horror

  • During the scene where Galavant's father shows him the tapestry he made of his life, he remarks upon Galavant's being fitted for his first suit of armor. Galavant's face darkens and he snaps that the blacksmith was "all hands", and the accompanying part of the tapestry shows the blacksmith with a lascivious look on his face fondling Galavant while Galavant looks scared and has his hands awkwardly positioned to try to cover himself. This pretty much spells out that Galavant was molested as a child, and it's played off as a joke.
  • From the same scene, one of Galavant's early reputation-making heroic deeds was apparently getting the "Most Valuable Knight" award for 'ripping those serfs to pieces' in a massacre.
  • Madalena threatening Sid with ending up the same way as the chicken could be seen as a simple death threat, but coming from a woman who was ready to eagerly stab a baby in order to gain power it could possibly imply something much worse.

Fridge Logic

  • Both of Sid's parents admit to being completely illiterate, yet his mother was somehow able to legibly write something nice on his bar mitzvah poster.
