Fridge Brilliance
- Rosalind's mother not liking eggs (especially raw) may seem like a case of Does Not Like Spam. But second time reading it, it becomes an obvious foreshadowing of how deeply affected she is from having drunk the slime from the stolen dragon egg.
- When Lord Faul has Rosalind remove her golden gloves to reveal her cursed claw, he decides to name her "Briar" since her 'thorn' is exposed, which he laughs to himself as though it were a joke. He just made a dad joke. Appropriate, as he's father, not only to his unborn children, but technically Rosalind's birth father.
Fridge Horror
- Right before the dragon came to steal Rosalind, Sir Magnus has already made Rosalind a vial of Poppy Potion all her own. Just like her mother. Looks like Sir Magnus was counting on killing off both the Queen and Rosalind on Drug Overdose. Had it not been for Lord Faul stealing her away, she'd have eventually end up dead like her mother. In a twisted way, the dragon did Rosalind (and Wilde Island) a great service in the grand scheme of things.
