Fridge / Barney Bear

Go To

Bah Wilderness is full of this. During the scene where Barney starts inflating his air mattress while snoring, the forest animals start to get scared and go hide when it gets up to the owl’s level. Why is this? Because they probably know that the mattress is made of rubber, and it could pop if it rubbed against a tree branch or twig. Also, pay attention to the stages that the mattress goes through. It starts off normal as Barney inflates it, but as it gets up to the owl level, it changes. The sides near Barney's head swell up bigger than the other sides, and Barney’s snoring gets heavier when he breaths out. This is because the other sides can’t stretch out anymore so all the air goes into the sides nearest to the tube, and Barney is breathing heavier because all that extra air is trying to get out, so Barney is (unknowingly) blowing harder in order for him to breath. Then when it the air can’t go into the mattress anymore it goes into the next thing that is rubber, the tube. When Barney wakes up, it pops, and this can be explained by the noises he makes when he wakes up, blowing a few more puffs of air into the tube, popping it.
