It's all but stated that aliens landing on Earth is a lot more common than what the general public would think, and that the government considers them even more dangerous than monsters. The narrative heavily implies that any and all aliens that land on Earth are taken by the government for potentially lethal experimentation. Megamind, Minion, and the then-unnamed Metro Man are spared this fate, as none of the government officials want to hurt a baby. Still, it's hard not to wonder how many (potentially evil, potentially benevolent) aliens have been killed by the government.
