The Silent Raid (De Overval) is a Dutch movie from 1962.

It tells of the raid on the Leeuwarden prison in 1944, when the Dutch resistance successfully liberated many people from the resistance. No shot was fired during the entire raid. It's often considered one of the best Dutch movies and can be viewed on Youtube.

The Silent Raid provides examples of:

  • Bilingual Bonus: The Germans speaking German.
  • La RĂ©sistance: Needs to come into action when Bakker has been captured, as he has too much information that he might spill under torture. They liberate several other people as well.
  • Les Collaborateurs: Some of the people working with the Germans.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: Averted. No shot was fired and one of the released prisoners is even stopped from kicking at one of the torturers. Reason being that they try to prevent German vengeance on the prisoners that stay behind.
