This film version of the classic book was created in 1955 by Fritz Genschow.
Unlike the book, it has a Happy Ending for almost everyone.
Provides examples of:
- Earn Your Happy Ending: The children, especially Enfante Terrible Friederich, have to prove their worth before Nikolaus can redeem them and give them gifts.
- Spared by the Adaptation: Paulinchen and Kaspar, who are confirmed to die in their stories, are shown perfectly fine and having learned their lessons at the end.
