A Christmas Movie Christmas is a 2019 comedy movie directed by Brian Herzlinger. It stars Lana McKissack as Eve Bell, a magazine graphic designer who loves Christmas movies, and Kimberly Daugherty as Lacy, Eve’s snarky sister whose history with dating men has left her jaded. On Christmas Eve, they both make a wish in front of a man dressed as Santa on the street. The next morning, Eve and Lacy wake up to find themselves in Holiday Falls, a small town that follows Christmas movie tropes. While Eve is overjoyed that her wish to live in a Christmas movie came true, Lacy is determined to get back home.

A Christmas Movie Christmas contains examples of:

  • Contractual Genre Blindness: Eve admits out loud that Noelle, Dustin’s ex-girlfriend, is meant to get between the two of them. However, Eve still lets Noelle help plan the Holiday Falls Christmas festival.
  • Pair the Spares: After Eve smooths things over with Dustin and Lacy admits that she wants to be with Paul, Eve tries to pair her ex-boyfriend, Russel Clark, with Dustin’s ex-girlfriend, Noelle.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Paul the baker tapes a card to Lacy’s window while she sleeps. The card depicts a drawing of her sleeping (in the pajamas she’s currently wearing, so he’s been definitely watched her sleep long enough to know that), and he leaves several more cards in the trees outside the house. Lacy gets him to knock it off.
