• An excellent writer, one of the bigger names writers in the fandom on archiveofourown. Has short fics that are light and fluffy, and some longer ones. Has a way of writing beautiful descriptive words and scenery.

• Most people in the fandom are aware of Seigus, because they draw beautiful art and their Undead Bodyguard fic is massively beloved, although they have other junai fics too. I have yet to run into a junai fan who reads fics and DIDN'T recommend rhwm.

Metal Head Conspiracy by buntcakemaster

• Synopsis: A collection of blog posts by the metal heads about Death Musume / Franchouchou. Watch as these two try to unravel the mystery behind this strange upstart idol group.
• An in-universe series of blogs by the two metalheads who became Franchouchou's first fans, this fic explores how the general public reacts to their performances, and what crazy theories they'll come up with. It's an interesting outsider's viewpoint.

A Legendary Christmas by KB9VCN

• Synopsis: Tae has wandered out of the mansion... on Christmas day. This, of course, leads to a series of misadventures.
• Writing for a mindless zombie can be difficult, but this story pegs Tae with just the right amount of awareness and obliviousness, with a narration that seems comically level-headed for the nonsense going on. I had a variety of smiles all the way through—amused, heartwarming, and exasperated.

Franchouchou feat. by fyras14

• Synopsis: The saga of the dead is just beginning...but when a secret is exposed, will Franchouchou still be standing by the end of it all?
• The fic is a very, very, slow burn. But the lead-up manages to do its job, making the scene where Okoba, Reiko, Takeo, and Ai's mom finally make contact and confront the girls in Chapters 34 and 35 feel like a major pay-off.
• Unfortunately I have to disagree with this recommendation. While the premise is great, it's not much of an exaggeration to say that there are grammar mistakes in virtually every sentence. Aside from that the writing style itself is very basic and not too good at conveying emotion.

• Comments: An unusual idea, as a collection of memes, tweets and other social media commentary about Franchouchou's success. A lot of effort went into making the memes and faked tweets.

• Synopsis: A 5+ 1 series for 6 out of 7 of the zombie girls and their relationship to someone either introduced in the show or to them, like with Junko's mother. It focuses on Lily and Light, Shiori and Ai, Yugiri and Kiichi, Kotaro and Sakura, Saki and Reiko and Junko and her mother
• The most sad series of fics I've read in the zombieland saga fandom. The first entry an eternal twinkling star details Light as he grows older while Lily does not...Each fic feels like it has their own tragedy and they are absolutely beautiful.

Shipping Fics

• Synopsis: The evening after the concert opening for Iron Frill.
• Pairing(s): Ai/Junko
• A very short and very fluffy piece. It's not a literary marvel by any means, buts it's a nice and easy comfort read.

Closet Case by RogueWaveSurfing

• Synopsis: Junko likes Ai. And Ai likes Junko. However, both of them are too stubborn to give these feelings voice to one another. So, Saki decides to grease the wheels.
• Pairing(s): Ai/Junko, mild Sakura/Saki
• What happens when an idol from the seventies accidentally outs herself in front of a biker from the nineties? A poorly phrased internet search and a bundle of shenanigans. This fic examines how being a celebrity can put stress on one's potential relationships, while still providing both a warm ending and a bundle of laughs.

• Synopsis: Saki... might have some kind of addiction to playing chicken. First it was that freakin' cliff, and then it was that cliff again, and now? Now it's trying to touch Ai's muscles. (But first she and Sakura gotta figure out if, uh, Ai actually has muscles.)
• Pairing(s): Saki/Ai
• Saki was impressed by Ai's bow and arrow skills, and wants to know if she really has the upper body strength to use one or if it's just more zombie weirdness. And this fic is not afraid of the girls' zombieness or to explore the state of their zombie bodies. It's nothing extreme, just be forewarned. It's set between episodes nine and ten, and everyone is in character, though it all comes across from Saki's perspective.

It's SakurAi Fan-Fic SAGA! by UnderAPaleGreySky

• Synopsis: (Author's summary—) Sakura wakes up one night to find Ai missing from the bedroom. After a short, memory-filled search for her errant friend, she finds Ai in a state of contemplation over the real-life story of a man who, too, suffered greatly to the whims of the uncaring storm. Sakura lends a supportive ear and the two share an involved conversation filled with allegory and metaphor that eventually leads to mutual confessions of love for one another. Lighthearted "shipping moments" and eventual, tastefully detailed NSFW situations fill the story as the two zombie girls delve into the world of romance together.
• Pairing(s): Sakura/Ai
• Set after the finale of Season 1, the level of attention to small details from the anime in this fic is pretty impressive. Those details as well as several parallels to the true story of the world record holder for times stricken by lightning are used to develop the romance plot surprisingly naturally. Yuri scenes are PG/PG-13 and receive a similar level of attention, making them easy to picture and quite satisfying.

• A very Orpheus and Eurydice type character study fic written after season 1. Beautifully written, but angsty.

• Very funny fic that involves Franchouchou's fandom shipping San Yon after Saga Rock. A very good Junai fic.

• Synopsis: "If there’s something you really want, take it!" Those words Kotaro told her stuck in Junko's mind. There was indeed something she wanted. And she'll take it. Spoilers for up to ZLS s2 episode 4.

• A wonderful fic that continues from the anime and involves sexy Junai biting.

• Synopsis: (Author's summary—) A weird and random crossover. When the members of Franchouchou, plus their zombie dog and manager, end up in Fódlan, they must attend the Officers Academy until they can find some way to get them home. Watch as Bernadetta tries to avoid being bitten by the Legendary Tae Yamada, Lily enjoys sweets with Lysithea, and Sylvain makes the wrong decision and flirts with Saga Jeune Ai Mizuno.
• Comments: Surprisingly a fun time with strange character interactions between the casts. Support conversations and character moments are solid. Also has a little cute crossover ship that kinda works.
