13 Reasons Why: The Tapes of Clay Jensen

- Synopsis: What if the person who committed suicide was Clay Jensen? What if Hannah Baker was the one who received the tapes? How will she react as she goes through the tapes?
- Comments: This is a well-thought out story featuring Hannah Baker and Clay Jensen's respective roles reversed. The interesting thing is that their original characterizations remain, with Hannah being the new girl and Clay having lived in Crestmont his whole life, and some of Hannah's original reasons remain. The author does an incredible job of weaving canon characters into new roles, adapting later additions in the series into earlier canon times, and changing some of the reasons' timing and the specific events significantly. It's a promising story, and if I'm being honest, is worth a full trope page. The chapters are very long and recreate many scenes and dialogue from the series, but several canon scenes are changed to fit with the new situation, and it all comes across very organically.
