These are recommendations made by tropers for Fan Fics set in the galaxy far, far away. No-name recommendations will be blasted. Add new examples at the bottom of the section, please. Finally, discussion of the recommendation is welcome on the discussion page.

Please be sure to mention when a fanfic heads into slash or non-canon territory. Some people just don't like it, and as we all know, Shipping is Serious Business.

Stories focused on the family and the friendly relationships of the cast. Plot-focused stories or light day-in-the-life stories. Pretty much anything that isn't focused on romance.

I Have a Papa Now by merlinus_ambrosius

  • Recommended by torchestation
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: On the seeing stone, Grogu calls out to a Jedi through the Force.
  • Comments: An adorable, heartfelt and masterfully written piece told from Grogu's point of view. The author does an incredible job capturing Grogu's wisdom and innocence. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry, it will make you re-read it 50 times.

What does the K in TK stand for, anyway? by Readaholics_Anonymous

  • Recommended by torchestation
  • Status: Ongoing
  • Synopsis: The rescue goes wrong and the Mandalorian is captured. An episode 16 AU, told from a Stormtrooper's POV.
  • Comments: A subversive and darkly humorous story where everything goes wrong. The author does a great job creating a tense and immersive atmosphere and the multiple POVs are masterfully written. The Stormtroopers are treated like real people and the Empire feels like an actual threat.

Parallel by Shirokokuro

  • Recommended by: SubversionStation
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: If time has shown him anything, it’s that the Way is a bridge they’re both on different sides of yet neither are willing to cross.
  • Comments: A wonderful 3-chapter fic that jumps between Din's experiences with his Mandalorian caretaker and his own experience as a father. Set post-Season 2, which means Grogu is not with Din for the majority of the story.

The Ternary Star by Shirokokuro

  • Recommended by: SubversionStation
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: “Those who live here come to seek peace,” Kuiil had said. But even here, peace doesn’t feel like something Din can find.

The Father by Thalius

  • Recommended by: fashionabledeathwish
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Din knew it would come down to this, in the end. Gideon had always been there waiting for him, and he was tired of hiding.
  • Comments: A wonderfully thorough rewrite/fix-it fic of the season 2 finale, intended to reconcile (what the author saw as a gap between) the themes set up throughout the season and their unsatisfying conclusions in the canon finale. Note the archive warnings for violence - it's significantly more graphic than the real episode. Propulsive action storytelling, some twists and turns, and some really wonderful character moments.

The Scent of Whiteleaf by LoonyLupin

  • Recommended by: dsneybuf
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Grogu and his protector visit a calm and peaceful world, searching for those who could help them find a Jedi. They find something else instead.

Stories focused on the romantic relationships between the characters.

Seperate Ways by Pepperprints

  • Recommended by: dinonugget
  • Status: Complete
  • Pairing: Din Djarin/Luke Skywalker
  • Synopsis: canon-divergent au; With Moff Gideon defeated and the Darksaber reclaimed, the rumours of newly named Mand'alor Din Djarin spread through the galaxy... along with the stories of the Child he carries with him. Determined to meet him, Luke Skywalker arrives on Mandalore — but before he can get any closer, he has to prove himself worthy of Mandalorian standards.
  • Comments: Written before S2's finale, believe it or not, this work does a phenomenal job showing the aspects of Mandalorian culture, Din and Grogu bonding, and Luke and Grogu bonding. This fic is so well-written and shows a really insteresting AU. So much love and domestic fluff. Some bits and pinches of angst, but that's a given.

The Edge of Hope by colormyheartred

  • Recommended by: dsneybuf
  • Status: Complete
  • Pairing: Din Djarin/Omera
  • Synopsis: Canon-divergent au; when Din left Sorgan to protect the Child, he left the woman he’d fallen in love with, not knowing he’d also left behind something else. Or, Omera and Winta join Mando and Grogu on their season 2 adventures. Mandomera!
  • Comments: While Din didn't necessarily need a travel partner in the actual Season 2, Omera proves a fascinating and useful addition to his party, especially when she participates in a chapter's main plot. The final chapter provides a sweetly tender read, a wholly original exploration of Din and Omera living a Happily Married domestic life after their adventures.

We Can't Keep Meeting Like This by celinamarniss

  • Recommended by: Theriocephalus
  • Status: Complete
  • Pairing: Din Djarin/Luke Skywalker/Mara Jade
  • Synopsis: Din finds his path repeatedly crossing that of a pair of Jedi as he searches for a teacher for his foundling and they seek a new home for the Order.
  • Comments: Note: the setting is a fusion of Legends and modern canon, essentially treating the events and relevant backstory of The Mandalorian as happening in the setting of Star Wars Legends. An excellent throuple story, and a fun fusion of the old and new continuities.

Avengers: Infinite Wars by free man writer

  • Recommented by: Marcus S Lazarus
  • Crossover with: Marvel Cinematic Universe
  • Status: In-Progress (the author is re-editing it in lieu of new info revealed over the past few years, which basically means they're doing a massive rewrite of the entire thing)
  • Synopsis: The Clone Wars are in full swing with the galaxy divided. The Jedi lead the clone army against the infinite droid army of the Separatists. Yet a wild card enters the fray. The Avengers. From there, newer, more sinister and deadlier threats emerge and The Galaxy, no, the universe, shall never be the same again.
  • Comments: A fascinating and dramatic blending of the two worlds, as the Avengers unwittingly introduce new threats to the Clone Wars while also providing the Republic with some unconventional allies. With moments ranging from Scott Lang fighting the Zillo Beast to the Avengers adopting 'Baby Yoda' and Peter Parker's intriguingly-developing relationship with Ahsoka Tano and Barriss Offee, this fic is certain to be a fascinating read as more and more twists and turns are introduced.
