Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V: Altered Destiny!
by B-baller125 is a retelling of Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V starting from Episode 37 where Yuya takes part in the Duel between Yuto and Yugo.
"During the fateful duel of Yuto and Yugo, Yuya decides to step in and this changes the conclusion of the duel and destiny itself. Find out what happens to these three boys as they travel throughout the four dimensions as Lancers to end the Dimensional War and to stop the evil Academia!"
This story contains examples of:
- Adaptation Expansion: Masumi, Hokuto, and Yaiba are given bigger roles outside of the Standard Arc and even join the Lancers.
- Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: In canon, there's little to suggest that Serena and Yuri ever knew each other. Here, they were childhood friends who drifted apart.
- Point of Divergence:
- The main one that starts the plot is Yuya interfering in Yuto and Yugo's fateful duel, preventing Yuto from getting absorbed. This also results in Yuto and Yugo participating in the Miami Championships.
- Due to the above experience, Yuya confesses how much Yuzu means to him, and the two kiss, getting a Relationship Upgrade.
- Instead of standing by, after Serena defeats Dennis, Yuzu stands between them, forcing the two into a Duel.
- Yuzu manages to last a little longer against Yuri, but she loses and her bracelet is damaged during their Duel, forcing her to run. That said, Yuto comes to her rescue and Ray is implied to have sent Yuri back to Academia, preventing Yuzu from being sent to the Synchro Dimension by accident.
- Masumi, Hokuto, and Yaiba join the Lancers and accompany them to the Synchro Dimension.
- The Doktor finishes the Parasite Fusioners early and uses them on Ruri and Rin. He then sends them to try to capture Yuzu and Serena, only for the girls to free them with the help of Ray.
- Mythology Gag:
- The Friendship Cup is done in teams of 3 like Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds WRGP.
- Legacy Character: More characters from the past series appear in the fic.
- Fusion Dimension: Johan Andersen, Darkness (Fubuki Tenjoin), Jun Manjome, and "Hell Kaiser" Ryo Marufuji.
- Synchro Dimension: Team Taiyo, Kyosuke Kiryu, and Aki Izayoi.
